Exact model and stock audit refreshed 1 October 2026 · New Zealand Prada eyewear guide

Choose Prada sunglasses by exact model, measurements and frame geometry—not by logo or lens width alone. Two black Prada frames can look similar in a product grid and fit very differently because bridge width, temple length, front shape and material all change how the frame sits.

This guide compares six exact Prada variants that were ACTIVE with positive Gadgets Online NZ inventory when rechecked. The goal is not to rank Prada styles nationally; it is to help you eliminate obvious fit mismatches before buying online.

Quick recommendation: choose PR B06S for a conventional men’s rectangle, PR A14S for an oversized butterfly front, PR 27ZS for stronger irregular geometry, PR A13S for an oval with a wider bridge, PR A12S for the most compact front in this group, or PR 06YS for a classic rectangle with striped-radica colour and dark-blue lenses.

Prada sunglasses NZ: six exact frames compared

Exact model Shape / material Size Lens Fit clue
PR B06S 16K08Z Rectangle / acetate 53–19–145 Dark Grey Balanced rectangle; narrower bridge than 27ZS/06YS
PR A14S 1AB5S0 Butterfly / propionate 60–18–120 Dark Grey Large lens width with notably short 120mm temples
PR 27ZS 16K08Z Irregular / acetate 54–21–145 Dark Grey Wider bridge and stronger statement geometry than B06S
PR A13S 1AB5S0 Oval / acetate 54–23–145 Dark Grey Widest bridge in this shortlist
PR A12S 16K08Z Irregular / acetate 52–21–140 Dark Grey Smallest lens width and shorter temples than A13S
PR 06YS 17R06A Rectangle / acetate 53–21–145 Dark Blue Same lens width as B06S but wider bridge and different visual weight

Stock note: all six exact variants were ACTIVE with positive inventory when rechecked on 1 October 2026. Exact model code matters because another colour/lens option in the same family can have different specifications.

How to read Prada sunglasses measurements

The common three-number sequence is lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. Those numbers are useful, but they do not equal overall frame width and they do not guarantee fit. Rim thickness, hinge position, lens shape, nose geometry and material all affect how the frame feels.

The best online reference is a pair you already wear comfortably. Compare like with like where possible: rectangle with rectangle, oval with oval, and similar bridge construction. A single “53mm” label is not enough.

PR B06S vs PR 27ZS — two black men’s options that do not fit the same

PR B06S 16K08Z is a 53–19–145 rectangle. PR 27ZS 16K08Z is a 54–21–145 irregular frame. The lens widths differ by only 1mm, but the bridge changes by 2mm and the front shape is more assertive on 27ZS.

Choose B06S if: you want the cleaner, more conventional rectangle. Choose 27ZS if: you want the frame geometry itself to make more of a statement or your comfortable reference pair sits closer to a 21mm bridge.

PR A13S vs PR A12S — oval vs compact irregular

PR A13S is 54–23–145 and oval. PR A12S is 52–21–140 and irregular. The A12S gives the smaller front dimensions in this group; the A13S has the wider bridge and longer temples.

Choose A12S when: oversized fronts often feel too large or your reference pair is closer to a 52mm lens. Choose A13S when: you prefer a softer oval line and know a wider bridge works for you. Do not use face-shape labels as a substitute for actual measurements.

PR A14S — why 60mm does not simply mean “largest fit”

PR A14S 1AB5S0 has a visually large 60mm butterfly lens but only 120mm temples. That combination is exactly why shopping by one number can fail. The front can look oversized while the side-arm length is substantially shorter than several other Prada models here.

If you are considering A14S, compare the temple length with a pair you already own and pay attention to how your current sunglasses sit behind the ears—not just how wide they look from the front.

PR 06YS vs PR B06S — same 53mm lens width, different result

PR 06YS 17R06A and B06S both use 53mm lenses in these exact variants. But 06YS has a 21mm bridge rather than 19mm, plus striped-radica colour and dark-blue lenses rather than black/dark-grey. Size and visual character are separate decisions.

Are these six Prada sunglasses polarised?

The exact product records reviewed for these six variants identify lens colours but do not label them as polarised. Do not assume a dark-grey or dark-blue lens is polarised. If glare reduction is important, choose a variant whose exact specification explicitly states polarisation.

For the difference between glare reduction and UV protection, use our UV Protection Sunglasses NZ guide and current Driving Sunglasses NZ guide.

Fit matters more than rigid face-shape rules

Face-shape advice can help with style ideas, but actual width, bridge comfort, temple pressure, cheek contact and coverage matter more. A frame recommended for an “oval face” can still be uncomfortable if the bridge is wrong.

Use our Sunglasses for Your Face Shape & Fit guide for proportion advice, then come back to the exact measurements before ordering.

The five-minute online fit audit

  1. Find the model/colour code inside a comfortable pair you already own.
  2. Write down lens width, bridge and temple length.
  3. Compare the Prada candidate’s shape and material as well as the numbers.
  4. Check whether your current problem is width, bridge, temple pressure or coverage.
  5. Confirm the exact lens specification and current stock before ordering or travelling to view it.

Prada sunglasses FAQs

How do I choose Prada sunglasses size online?

Compare lens width, bridge and temple length with a pair you already wear comfortably, then account for frame shape and bridge construction. Do not use lens width alone.

Are all Prada sunglasses polarised?

No. Polarisation varies by exact lens option. The six variants in this guide were not labelled polarised in the product records reviewed.

What is the difference between PR A13S and PR A12S?

A13S is a 54–23–145 oval in the exact variant reviewed; A12S is a smaller 52–21–140 irregular frame. The bridge, temple length and shape all differ.
